Here is the Simplified Form:

1.  We believe in God
2.  We believe that God is expressed through all
     Nature
3.  True religion is living in obedience to Nature's
      Laws.
4.  We never die.
5.  Spiritualism proves that we can talk with people
     in the Spirit World.
6.  Be kind, do good, and others will do likewise.
7.  We bring unhappiness to ourselves by the errors
     we make and we will be happy if we obey the
     laws of life.
8.  Every day is a new beginnning.
9.  Prophecy and Healing are expressions of God.

These
Declarations of Principles were written by
our forefathers.  The principles were given much
thought and took quite a while to be written as we
live by them today.
Principles 1-6 were adopted in Chicago, Ill at the
Annual Convention in 1899.
Principles 7-8 were adopted in Rochester, NY at
the Annual Convention in 1909.
Principle 9 was adopted in St. Louis, MO at the
Annual Convention in 1944.  Principle 9 was amended in 1983 to include Healing.
Principle 8 was amended in Rochester NY in 2001.

Our National Spiritualist Association was founded at the World's Fair in Chicago, IL in September of
1893 and filed for incorporation on November
1st 1893 in Washington, DC.     



Spiritualists live their lives according to our
Declaration of Principles.  These are the
guidelines of our philosophy and religion.
Following is our
Declaration of Principles,
which is followed by the simplified form:

1.  We believe in Infinite Intelligence
2.  We believe that the phenomena of nature,
     both physical and spiritual, are the
     expression of Infinite Intelligence..
3.  We affirm that a correct understanding of
     such expression and living in accordance
      therewith constitute true religion.
4.  We affirm the existence and personal
      identity of the individual continue after
      the change called death.
5.  We affirm that communication with the
     so called dead is a fact scientifically proven
     by the phenomena of Spiritualism.
6.  We believe that the highest morality is
     contained in the Golden Rule: whatsoever
     ye would that others should do unto you,
     do ye also unto them.
7.  We affirm the moral responsiblity of 
     individuals, and that we make our own
     happiness or unhappiness as we obey or
    disobey natures physical and spiritual laws.
8.  We affirm the doorway to reformation is
     never closed against any soul, here or
     hereafter.
9   We affirm that the precepts of Prophecy
     and Healing are Divine Attributes proven
     through mediumship.
